oxidative stress induced by ethanol metabolism is an important cause of alcoholic liver disease. brown alginate oligosaccharides can inhibit oxidative stress in the body and have good activity in diseases with oxidative stress as the main pathogenesis, such as senile dementia, inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Therefore, fucoidan oligosaccharide has the potential to prevent alcoholic liver injury.
The researchers of the School of Medicine of Ocean University of China used animal models of acute alcohol-induced liver injury to determine the biochemical indexes and histopathological changes in the serum and liver of mice. The color of the liver treated with brown algae oligosaccharide is ruddy, and the fat vacuoles in liver tissue sections are obviously reduced, which indicates that brown algae oligosaccharide can inhibit the accumulation of fat in the liver caused by acute ethanol and reduce the inflammatory reaction. In addition, brown algae oligosaccharide can delay the metabolism of ethanol in vivo and accelerate the removal of the metabolite acetaldehyde, which has a certain effect of removing wine.
