Alginate Oligosaccharide is a degradation product of alginate. It has good water solubility, is easy to absorb, and has a small molecular weight. It plays an important role in promoting plant growth, inducing plant resistance and improving product quality. Ma Chunyan and others treated sorghum seeds with different concentrations of Alginate Oligosaccharide to study the effects of Alginate Oligosaccharide on the germination of sorghum seeds and the physiological activities of seedlings.
In the experiment, a certain amount of Alginate Oligosaccharide was accurately weighed, and the concentration of 1%, 0.5%, 0.25%, 0.125% and 0.0625% of Alginate Oligosaccharide solution was prepared with distilled water in 100mL. The plump sorghum seeds were soaked in the above solution for 24 hours. Take water treatment as a control. Take out the soaked seeds, incubate them in a thermostat at 25°C, and measure the germination rate and amylase activity respectively; the others are sown in pots and cultivated under light at room temperature. When the sorghum seedlings grow to three leaves and one heart, the root activity, For seedling height and root length, each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results showed that: lower concentrations of Alginate Oligosaccharide can promote seed germination and seedling growth (see Table 1); can promote the synthesis of chlorophyll in sorghum leaves (see Table 3); can improve root vigor (see Figures 1 and 2); different Alginate Oligosaccharides The concentration has different effects on the A-amylase and B-amylase activities of sorghum seeds (see Table 2). The 0.0625% concentration of Alginate Oligosaccharide seed soaking treatment has the most obvious effect on improving root vigor and increasing seedling chlorophyll content; The 0.125% concentration of Alginate Oligosaccharide seed soaking treatment is beneficial to increase the germination rate and amylase activity of sorghum seedlings, and the seedling height and root length also show the greatest advantages. It shows that the low concentration of Alginate Oligosaccharide is beneficial to improve the resistance of plant seedlings.
